Rahul Gandhi will not get support in Himachal or Gujarat: BJP

Hamirpur/UNI: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national spokesperson Aprajita Sarangi Saturday said the saffron camp will win elections in Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat with ease and Rahul Gandhi will not garner any support from the people in both poll-bound states.

Talking to reporters here Saturday, Sarangi said the high-decibel speeches written by the Congress party outside its office in Shimla will not affect voters.

People know both Congress party and Rahul Gandhi, she said, adding, "The promise of distributing Rs 1,500 per women every month and other things which are being done by Congress, if they really matter then they have governments in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, why did they not start from there."

"Congress leaders can only talk,” she said.

The former IAS officer and Lok Sabha MP from Bhubaneswar, Sarangi, said the Bharat Jodo campaign of Rahul Gandhi was nothing but to fool people.

She said the condition of Congress has become such that 36 of its senior leaders have left the party.

She claimed that for the upliftment of women in Himachal Pradesh, the central government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the state government of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur were running many schemes, the benefits of which women have seen.

Whereas, wherever there are Congress governments, crimes have increased, she said.

Sarangi said Himachal Congress leader Vikramaditya Singh has made indecent remarks at women which reflects his and party's mindset.

She said in Himachal Pradesh, the BJP government led by Jai Ram Thakur has done a commendable job on sex ratio and related issues and has given 50 per cent reservation to women in various democratically elected bodies.
