New Delhi/UNI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday called upon the countrymen to follow the Covid-19 protocols and also urged all the eligible to take the precaution dose.

The PM's appeals come at a time when several states across the country are witnessing a spike in cases of Coronavirus.

"We have to take necessary precautions against Covid-19 like hand hygiene and masks. If it is time for a precaution dose after your second dose, then you must take this third dose," Modi said in his 'Mann Ki Baat' address.

"Make your family members, especially the elderly, take a precautionary dose," the PM appealed.

He also said it was a matter of satisfaction that today the country has a comprehensive protective shield of a vaccine.

"We have reached close to 200 crore vaccine doses. Precaution dose is also being rapidly administered in the country," Modi said.

The PM also advised people to be alert to diseases caused by the surrounding filth during the rainy season.

According to the bulletin issued by the Health Ministry on Sunday, India has registered 11,739 new Covid-19 cases during the past 24 hours, taking the total caseload to 4,33,89,973.
