Assam Rifles busts narcotics trafficking ring in Manipur, seizes narcotics worth Rs 10 crore

Guwahati/IBNS: Loktak Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) in a joint operation with Manipur Police, busted a narcotics trafficking rung in Churachandpur in Manipur on Wednesday.

Based on intelligence inputs, troops of Assam Rifles and Churachandpur Police intercepted a car with three persons moving on NH 2 near Kangvai.

On thorough checking of the vehicle, nearly 2.5 kgs of high grade Heroin worth was seized from the vehicle.

The cost of the narcotics seized is assessed to be worth nearly Rs 10 crore.

The three narcotics traffickers were apprehended by the joint team and taken to Churachandpur Police Station for further legal proceedings.
