Chinese President Xi Jinping delivers opening remarks as G20 commences

Hangzhou, Sept 4 (IBNS): The G20 summit commenced on Sunday with a grand opening ceremony at the Convention Centre in Hangzhou in China.

The opening remarks were delivered by Chinese President Xi Jinping.

"Confronting the challenges of our times. Opening ceremony of G20 gets underway with remarks by President Xi Jinping," MEA spokesperson Vikas Swarup tweeted.

Ahead of the G20 Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Chinese President Xi Jinping.

"First engagement in Hangzhou is a meeting with the host. PM @narendramodi meets President Xi Jinping," Swarup posted.

Modi visited China after completing his trip to Vietnam on Saturday.
