Mumbai/IBNS: Bollywood actor Akshaye Khanna, currently enjoying renewed attention for his much-talked-about role as Rehman Dakait in Dhurandhar, has revealed a lifestyle routine that sharply contrasts with the fitness regimens often associated with film celebrities.

In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, the 50-year-old actor shared details of his unusually simple and disciplined daily schedule, including a diet plan that skips what most doctors and lifestyle coaches consider the most important meal of the day.

“As far as I remember, I have never eaten breakfast. I directly have lunch and then dinner. I don’t eat anything in between lunch and dinner, not even a sandwich or a biscuit,” Akshaye said, adding that he only has a cup of tea in the evening.

Despite having no strict restrictions when it comes to sweets, Akshaye keeps his meals minimal and home-style. His lunch typically consists of rice, dal, vegetables, and a non-vegetarian dish such as chicken or fish, while dinner is usually roti with vegetables and chicken.

The actor also revealed a sleep routine that defies the demanding schedules often linked to the film industry. “I sleep about 10 hours a day,” he said.

Dhurandhar and Akshaye Khanna’s comeback moment

Akshaye Khanna’s candid revelations come at a time when he is being widely praised for his performance in Dhurandhar, where he essays the gritty role of Rehman Dakait. The film, noted for its intense narrative and layered characters, has put the spotlight firmly back on the actor’s ability to command the screen with understated yet powerful performances.

Known for choosing selective and unconventional roles, Akshaye has built a reputation as one of Bollywood’s most dependable character actors, with acclaimed performances in films such as Border, Dil Chahta Hai, Race, Section 375, and Drishyam 2. His portrayal in Dhurandhar further cements his standing as an actor who thrives on depth rather than glamour.

With audiences responding positively to both his on-screen presence and off-screen candour, Akshaye Khanna appears firmly back in the spotlight—on his own terms.
