Kolkata/IBNS: The Union government's recent announcement of the dates for the Joint Entrance Exams (JEE) and National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is a significant boost for the students who are going to appear for these exams, according to Taranjit Singh, MD, JIS Group.

The JIS Group runs a large number of educational institutions across India.

Scheduled to be held in April-May, these exams had to be postponed owing to the lockdown scenario resulting from the Covid-19 crisis.

According to the latest annoucement, JEE-Mains exams are scheduled to be held from July 18-23 and NEET on July 26.

The announcement was an immense relief for the students who had been waiting anxiously for it, said Sardar Taranjit Singh.

"This I feel is a wonderful news that will lift the mental strength of students. At the same time, since there is still ample time, students can prepare themselves better," he said.

He also said, "If any student faces any problem or requires any assistance in their preparation due to movement restrictions, they can get in touch with us directly as we are holding a mock test  and giving tuition of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology free of cost through our expert teachers."
