Kolkata, Oct 5 (IBNS): Kolkata’s famous Durga Puja will witness a chocolate overhaul as Magnum ice cream, the authority on pleasure, on Wednesday unveiled a first-of-its-kind iconic installation. Standing 18 feet tall, this magnificent Magnum inspired art installation will be located next to the famed Singhi Park pandal in the city from Oct 5 to Oct 11.

Tollywood actress Payel Sarkar unveiled the installation to the eager crowds of Kolkata.

A metaphorical display of the Goddess Durga idol seen in pandals, this festive installation mirrors Bengali ethnicity and is adorned with 3D floral pattern inspired by the Bengali motifs.

Talking about the occasion actress Payel Sarkar said, “It’s time for Durga Pujo and my excitement knows no bounds! It is one of our most revered festival and till today I am filled with nostalgia and excitement of friends and family getting together for it. The festival embodies, the quintessential culture of Bengalis – a mélange of sweetness and festive fervor. And it is this essence that premium Belgian Chocolate ice-cream brand Magnum has captured through its larger than life installation. The floral motifs on the installation are absolutely beautiful and remind me of typical Bengali decorations.”

“We are excited to be a part of this extravagant celebration of Durga Puja; the festival that embodies the distinctive Bengali culture. Our larger than life iconic installation is presented in a globally appealing form, yet mirrors the festive zeal and vibe that the City of Joy exudes during the festival. Our carefully crafted range of pure 100% Belgian chocolate ice creams are the perfect treat for Durga Puja, combining the traditional sweetness of Kolkata, while giving people the ultimate luxurious, sensorial delight in Magnum’s typical global style.” Sumit Mathur, General Manager, Kwality Walls, Hindustan Unilever Ltd.
