Kolkata: AWA Fashions launches new store

Kolkata, June 12 (IBNS): AWA Fashions, a store of hand woven garments which represents craftsmanship in Indo-Western and fusion wear, was inaugurated on Saturday in Kolkata.
The boutique will cater to ladies ethnic wear which includes sarees, designer suits, long dresses and gowns as well as Indo-Western creations, drape dresses, capes, kurtis, blouses, skirts and lehengas.
 
Actress Anindita Roy, Soni Gupta and Pritam Panda have conceptualised the apparels.
 
From sarees in georgette, to muslin sarees that have been lined with jute and ghungroo, the creations of Anindita represent the earthiness of Bengal.
 
Speaking at the event, designer Anindita said: "I have created dresses that are of all seasons and all good reasons. These are boutique pieces that are singular creations and one will not find a second piece anywhere else."
 
Music composer, Bikram Ghosh, who was present at the inauguration, said: "Anindita and we (he and his spouse Jaya Seal) are like a family, we knew of her creative desire and are very happy that she could bring out her designs in limelight.We wish her good luck  and may she bring out designs for men as well."
 
Anindita's fabric includes jute as well. Most of the borders of sarees, suits and gowns have been hand stitched.
