International Tagore Festival brings together renowned song exponents from London, Bangladesh, India
Kolkata/IBNS: London-based Dr. Ananda Gupta has initiated the International Tagore Festiva representing a unique approach to showcasing Rabindranath Tagore's songs.
The International Tagore Festival, organized by Dr. Ananda Gupta of London, featured artists from Kolkata, Bangladesh, and London.
The festival spanned four days, during which Rabindranath's creations were celebrated in unique and diverse ways each day.
The venue for the International Tagore Festival was split between two locations: Rabindra Sadan and Rathindra Manch at Jorasanko Thakurbari.
Throughout the four-day International Tagore Festival, Gupta and other performers showcased Rabindranath's creations in various forms.
The first day focused on Tagore's songs of nationalism, with performances by Pramita Mallick, students of Dakshinayan UK, and dancers Subhashish Bhattacharya, Sushmita Bhattacharya, Diptanshu Pal, and Gargi Niyogi.
On the second day, Tagore's songs of love were presented by Srabani Sen, students of Dakshinayan UK, and narrators Debashis Kumar, Debjani Basu Kumar, and Subhadeep Chakraborty.
The third day featured Hey Anantapunya offering prayer songs by Aditi Mohsin, Dr. Ananda Gupta, and narrator Subhadeep Chakraborty.
Finally, the festival concluded with a performance of Adhara Madhuri, directed by Guru Sanchita Bhattacharya, encapsulating the diverse range of Rabindranath's creations presented to the audience.
According to Gupta, the International Tagore Festival was a unique event that brought together prominent Rabindra Sangeet artists from London, Kolkata, and Bangladesh.
Rabindranath Tagore, being an international artist and philosopher, has left a lasting impact beyond the borders of his home country and time.
During the program, the focus was on the significance of this house in Rabindranath's life, as expressed through various stories and songs. The event featured performances by Aditi Gupta, Dr. Ananda Gupta, and students of Dakshinayan UK.
Through this initiative, Dr. Gupta and the other participants paid tribute to his genius and celebrated his work in a global context.
