New Delhi/Kolkata, Jun 19 (IBNS): India on Sunday celebrated the bond of a father and a child as the world observed Father's Day.
Popular search engine Google created a special doodle to mark the occasion.

This year, the doodle depicts the image of a pair of dad’s shoes on a rug with the word Google on it, accompanied with a pair of child's shoes that indicate how kids follow their dad’s footsteps.

The third Sunday of June is dedicated to celebrate Father’s Day all across the globe as sons and daughters recognize the contribution that fathers in their lives.

It is said that Father’s day was first observed way back in 1908, in Fairmont in West Virginia in the Williams Memorial Methodist Episcopal Church South.

Now-a-days it is a more social media affair with children remembering their father in umpteen ways.

On this day, children also present cards and gifts to their fathers and convey their respects for holding such an important position in their lives.
