Mumbai, Apr 28 (IBNS): Sarod maestro Amjad Ali Khan on Saturday wished Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his efforts to strike a friendly chord between India and China.

Hailing PM Modi, who is presently in China on a two-day trip, Ali Khan tweeted, "Wishing our honourable PM @narendramodi the very best for his efforts towards Indo-Chinese friendship!"

Modi went to China to attend an informal meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

According to some media reports, India's Foreign Secretary said there have been no agreements signed between the two nations as PM Modi spoke about the bilateral issues with Jinping.

Modi and Jinping discussed countering terror and establishing peace at the borders.

India and China are likely to make a joint project in Afghanistan.

The two leaders even took a walk and spent time with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping along the East Lake in Wuhan on Saturday.

In a rare instance of praise, the Chinese media have said that Modi's recent informal meeting with Jinping reflected their deepened mutual chemistry.

The meeting between the respective leaders of South Asia's two most important nations have been very well received by media outlets in the Chinese mainland.
