Kolkata, Sep 10 (IBNS): Deviating from traditional norms, Acropolis Mall sought to raise awareness about the evils of honking by organising an art exhibition.

Amalgamating both art and social awareness, the exhibition, curated by Sachin Kaluskar from Vadodara; showcases 21 paintings with the objective of sending a subliminal message to the viewer’s subconscious mind against the everyday menace of incessant honking.

While 10 of the artists are from Kolkata and include names such as Jagannath Mohapatra, Anusuya Mohapatra, Malleshi H V, Shyamali Haldar, Debraj Goswami, Rajiba Lochan Pani, Diptish Ghosh Dastidar, Prantik Chattopadhyay, Ananya Dalal and Thakere Naik, the other 11 artists are from Vadodara and include Debasish Dutta, Jaldip Chauhan, Sanjay Rajwar, Jignasha Doshi, Rahul Mukherjee, Amarnath Sharma, Nimisha Rao, Poorva Nimkar, Shanta Rakshit, Sanket Viramgami and Sheetal Kaluskar.

While the exhibition witnessed several schoolchildren viewing the paintings, a spokesperson confirmed that the exhibition would be showcased in a number of schools too, to further the cause and spread awareness.
