William G. Kaelin Jr, Sir Peter J. Ratcliffe, Gregg L. Semenza win Nobel prize in Medicine

New York:  The 2019 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine have been won by three scientists belonging to the US and the UK.

They have been identified as William G. Kaelin Jr, Sir Peter J. Ratcliffe and Gregg L. Semenza.

The official page of the Nobel Prize said: "The 2019 #NobelPrize in Physiology or Medicine has been awarded jointly to William G. Kaelin Jr, Sir Peter J. Ratcliffe and Gregg L. Semenza 'for their discoveries of how cells sense and adapt to oxygen availability'."

William G. Kaelin Jr and Gregg L. Semenza belong to America.

They shared the prize with Sir Peter J. Ratcliffe of the UK.
