Bangalore, Sept 6 (IBNS): The Indian Space Research Organisation on Sunday said military communication satellite GSAT-6 has been positioned in its orbital slot.

The ISRO tweeted:"GSAT 6 has been successfully positioned in its orbital slot of 83 Deg E and colocated with INSAT 4A, GSAT 12, GAAT 10 and IRNSS1C today."

In its ninth flight (GSLV-D6) conducted on Aug 27, India's Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle, equipped with the indigenous Cryogenic Upper Stage (CUS), successfully launched GSAT-6, the country's latest communication satellite, into a Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO).

The launch took place from the Second Launch Pad at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre SHAR (SDSC SHAR) at Sriharikota, the spaceport of India.

This was the fifth developmental flight of GSLV and the third to carry the indigenous CUS.
