Within our capacity to reach the 5 trillion economy goal: FM Sitharaman

New Delhi, July 5 (IBNS): Presenting the Union Budget in the parliament, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said it is within the country's capacity to reach the five trillion economy goal.

"Indian economy will be 3 trillion dollar in the current year itself. India is already the third largest economy," added. Sitharaman 

Promising to invest heavily in infrastructure, the Finance Minister announced: "New metro railway of 300 km approved during 2018-19."

After former Prime Minister late Indira Gandhi, Sitharaman is the second Union Finance Minister of the country.

Also this is the first budget of the Narendra Modi government after assuming power for the second straight term.
