Wipro’s Chief Operating Officer Amit Choudhary resigns, Sanjeev Jain to replace him

Mumbai: Indian IT services firm Wipro’s Chief Operating Officer Amit Choudhary has resigned to pursue opportunities outside the organization, according to an exchange filing by the company.

Choudhary's tenure will end on May 31, the filing said.

Sanjeev Jain has been appointed as his immediate replacement, based in Bengaluru.

Choudhary's departure is the second major exit from Wipro recently, following the resignation of Anis Chenchah, President of the Asia Pacific, India, Middle East, and Africa (APMEA) region, on May 10.

These resignations come shortly after former CEO Thierry Delaporte resigned on April 6.

It’s worth noting that Choudhary, Chenchah, and Delaporte all previously worked at the France-based company Capgemini.

Both Chenchah and Choudhary joined Wipro during Delaporte's tenure as CEO.

Meanwhile, Jain will report to chief executive officer and managing director Srinivas Pallia and will continue to be a member of Wipro’s executive committee, the filing said.

Jain had joined the IT firm in 2023 as the global head of business operations.

Jain played a major leadership role in developing and implementing Wipro’s AI training and upskilling strategy.

He will now manage global business operations, the chief information office, the chief information security office, and the enterprise risk management function.

Before joining Wipro, Jain worked at Kyndryl Holdings (an IBM spin-off), IBM, Cognizant, and GE. He is also an alumnus of IIM-Mumbai.
