Vodafone Idea posts Rs 73,878 cr annual loss

New Delhi/UNI: India's third largest telecom operator Vodafone Idea on Wednesday reported a net loss of Rs 73,878 crore for 2019-20, the highest ever annual loss by any Indian firm, after making provision for Supreme Court-mandated statutory dues.

Non-telecom income was also to be included in the arrear calculation, on the basis of which the company has to pay Rs 51,400 crore to the government.

The company had a net loss of Rs 11,643.5 crore for the quarter ended March 2020.

In the last financial year it was Rs 4,881.9 crore during this period.

The company's operating income during the March 2020 quarter stood at Rs 11,754.2 crore.

Vodafone Idea had a loss of Rs 14,603.9 crore in the financial year 2018-19.
