Tata Sons-Mistry conflict: SC issues notice to parties

New Delhi/UNI: The Supreme Court on Friday issued notice to Cyrus Mistry after hearing a plea filed by Tata Sons against the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal's January 6 decision by which it had rejected an application seeking a modification of its December 2019 judgment.

The bench comprised Chief Justice of India SA Bobde and Justices BR Gavai and Surya Kant.

"We issue notice to other parties," ruled the bench.

Apex Court had on January 10 stayed the NCLAT's order to reinstate Mr Mistry as Executive Chairman of Tata Sons.

"We stay the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal Judgement that ordered reinstating Cyrus Mistry as the Executive Chairman of Tata Sons," the bench had said earlier.

"We will hear the matter later on accordingly," it ruled.

The NCLAT had ordered to reinstate Mr Mistry, an Irish businessman of Indian origin, as the Executive Chairman of Tata Sons.
