Tata Motors launches new range of Tata ULTRA trucks in Sri Lanka

New Delhi, Oct 14 (IBNS): Automobile major Tata Motors' on Tuesday said its commercial vehicle division has launched the new Intermediate and Light Commercial Vehicle (ILCV) range of trucks christened ‘ULTRA’ in Sri Lanka.

Launching the all-new Tata ULTRA ILCV range, Ravi Pisharody, Executive Director, Commercial Vehicles Business Unit, Tata Motors Ltd., said, "After the world-class range of Prima trucks, we now introduce another global standard of trucks in ILCV segment - the Tata ULTRA trucks. With stylish, futuristic and smart utility features, the Tata ULTRA, has been designed to fast track the consumer’s business growth and deliver a reliable, safe, comfortable vehicle with superior performance."

Pisharody said: "At Tata Motors, the core philosophy behind the launch of every new vehicle is an endeavor to modernise the commercial vehicle industry. The Tata ULTRA is a result of extensive feedback from customers and an immersive study into the lives of drivers, to understand their expectations from their vehicles in the ILCV segment. Keeping in mind the changing needs of customers and changing technology, we have once again taken a pioneering step in Sri Lanka’s commercial vehicle industry by launching the Tata ULTRA range of trucks."

Speaking on the occasion, R T Wasan, Head International Business said, "The launch of the Tata Ultra range of vehicles in Sri Lanka, is an important milestone in Tata Motors’ continued expansion globally. The Ultra range is world-class in every sense, giving the customers competitive business advantages, with the trusted credentials of the Tata Motors brand.  The ULTRA range of commercial vehicles was conceived as a modern platform that will serve the needs of new generation trucks".

The new Tata ULTRA range of trucks will come in three variants with payload capacity between 2.5 to 6 tonnes.

With its contemporary design, the ULTRA range comes packed with new generation aggregates like the reliable Tata engine, all new aluminium housing gearbox and clutch and pioneering driver-centric features like disc brakes, radial tyres, spacious world-class cabin, suspended seats, AC option.

On the interiors, the Tata ULTRA range will come with a world-class hydraulic 45 degree tiltable cabin, which has been designed with elegant and stylish looks, with sufficient storage capacity and features like dash-mounted gear lever, AC provision and a new generation instrument cluster.

The Tata ULTRA truck comes with the strongest chassis in its class with bolted design for increased modularity. The range is equipped with disc brakes for increased safety and tubeless radial tyres (an Industry first) for increased fuel efficiency, besides better road grip and gradual deflation in the event of puncture.
