Jammu, Nov 28 (IBNS): Terrorist Naveed Jatt, who had killed journalist Shujaat Bukhari, was shot dead in an encounter in Kashmir's budgam district on Wednesday, media reports said.

Jatt is one of the two terrorists who were killed in the joint operation, which was launched by the state police and the army in Budam's Chattergam area on Wednesday.

Jatt, a Lashkar terrorist, had escaped from the SMHS hospital earlier in 2018 when jail authorities had taken him for check-up.

How Bukhari was killed?

In the month of June, Bukhari (52), who was the editor of 'Rising Kashmir', was killed by three terrorists on a bike. The assailants- with their faces covered- were caught on CCTV camera carrying weapons in a sack.

Bukhari was leaving his office in Srinagar's Press Enclave when he was shot at from close range. His two security officers- Hamid Chaudhary and Mumtaz Awan- were also killed in the attack.
