Sensex ends almost flat at 41,945.37

Mumbai/(UNI: The BSE Sensex on Friday ended almost flat at 41,945.37, registering a nominal gain of 12.81 points on buying in stocks include, Energy, Telecom, Power and Technology.

While, the National Stock Exchange (NSE) fell by 3.15 points to 12,352.35.

The Nifty registered days high and low at 12,385.45 and 12,321.40 points respectively.

The market remained sluggish during the day, as it opened negative at 41,929.02, easing by 3 points. It was dropped nearly 82 points to 41,850.29, a days low, sliding by 82 points. Later, it ended at 41,945.37, up by 12.81 points from its last close.

Meanwhile, it was at 42,063.93, a day high, surging by 131 pts.

The scrips like Bharti Airtel, Reliance Industries, Sun Pharma, HCL Tech and Maruti Suzuki gained.

In the broader market, the S&P BSE Mid-Cap index rose 0.54 pc while the S&P BSE Small-Cap index gained 0.42 pc.

The market breadth favored the buyers. On the BSE, 1324 shares rose and 1217 shares fell. A total of 175 shares were unchanged. In Nifty 50 index, 21 stocks advanced while 28 stocks declined and 1 stock was unchanged.

Shares in Europe and Asia edged higher on Friday.
