Sensex drops marginally by 16.29 pts

Snapping a winning streak of last three sessions, the BSE Sensex declined 16.29 pts to close at 64,942.40 on profit booking by local operators.

The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) eased 5.05 pts at 19,406.70.

The Sensex gained 63 pts at 65,021.29 in opening session and remained days high. Later, it was dropped 320 pts at 64,638.10, days low, before closing at 64,942.40, easing 16.29 pts from its previous close.

The stocks like, Realty, Auto and Technology dragged the market.

Realty fell by 1.21 pc followed by Auto by 0.19 pc and Technology by 0.03 pc.

The Mid Cap increased by 0.53 pc and Small Cap by 0.38 pc.

In 30 scrips, 16 advanced while 14 went up during the day.

The losers were Bajaj Finance by 0.99 pc to Rs 7485.30, Reliance Industries by 0.64 pc to Rs 2324, JSW Steel by 0.63 pc to Rs 748.75, M & M by 0.52 pc to Rs 1480.15 and ITC by 0.47 pc to Rs 433.10.

The gainers were Sun Pharma by 1.95 pc to Rs 1172, NTPC by 1.51 pc to Rs 239.40, IndusInd. Back. by 1.20 pc to Rs 1487.85 and SBI by 1.06 pc to Rs 580.50.
