MyGate announces East India expansion plan after establishing strong Kolkata base

Kolkata/IBNS: MyGate, India’s leading security and community management solution for gated premises, has announced plans to expand across East India after solidifying presence across Kolkata.

Launched in 2016, MyGate provides an app-based tracking service for everything which enters and exits our house.

The application is well integrated with food delivery apps like Zomato and Swiggy, making deliveries seamless. It also provides the user with a feature to calculate the salary and track the attendance of domestic helpers. It also provides staff management services.

According to Vijay Arisetty, Cofounder and CEO, MyGate, the company's goal is to provide solutions to 800,000 homes in the Eastern wing of India by the mid 2020.

"The company aims to secure 800,000 homes across 2100 gated communities around East India by the end of this year, of which Kolkata would account for around 30 per cent," he said.

Its mobile-based security and community management solution is now in over 60,000 homes across 250 gated communities in the West Bengal capital, including prestigious locations such as IIM Calcutta, Uniworld City (a 100-acre township) and a total of six properties housing defense personnel (in Alipore, Hastings and Khidirpur), the officials said.

It has now announced the launch of its solution in Cuttack and Raipur, with six other cities, including Guwahati, Bhubaneswar and Ranchi, to follow by mid-2020. The planned expansion is a key business focus following MyGate’s recent $56 million Series B funding announcement.

Multiple cities in East India are experiencing real estate growth. Kolkata witnessed a 19% increase in the sale of homes in 2019 according to JLL, a leading real estate research firm, with Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and Raipur named among the fastest developing real estate markets in India.

Apartment complexes can deploy the MyGate solution in six days without any investment in hardware or any capital expenditure. MyGate is a mobile-app-based system that enhances security and convenience for residents of gated communities by digitizing and automating their manual tasks.

With MyGate, all entries and exits are approved and logged digitally, with complete visibility and control to the residents.

MyGate also offers several advanced capabilities such as e-intercom (automatic visitor authentication), child safety alerts, staff management, infrastructure-free vehicle management, touchless resident identification, clubhouse access management and admin dashboards/reporting.

Apart from all these, MyGate also helps resident welfare associations (RWAs) to manage their society accounting, payments from residents, help desk and other value adds. The solution is provided in a pay-as-you-go pricing model, and the startup provides and manages the training of facility staff, security guards and residents.
