Markets in red, Sensex tanks over 500 points

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex on Thursday dropped by 543 pts at 37,124.67 as selling was witnessed across the board amid weak global cues, as per last update.

The Nifty of National Stock Exchange too slipped by 163.90 pts to 10,967.95.

The Sensex registered intra-day high and low at 37,304.26 and 37,058.79 pts respectively.

The Nifty registered intra-day high and low at 11,015.30 and 10,951.80 respectively.

The Mid Cap fell by 1.99 pc and Small Cap by 1.81 pc.

In 30 scrips, 1 advanced while 29 declined.

The losers were Indusind Bank by 4.10 pc to Rs 506, Bajaj Finance by 4.05 pc to Rs 3111.60, Axis Bank by 3.16 pc to Rs 406.55, M & M by 3.08 pc to Rs 593.95 and Titan by 2.99 pc to Rs 1083.90.

The sole gainer was Kotak Bank by 0.36 pc to Rs 1279.40.
