Indian Market: Sensex up 81 pts

Mumbai/UNI:  BSE Sensex on Tuesday advanced by 81 pts to open at 38,498.07 on renewed buying in IT, Oil and Gas, Technology and Energy stocks.

The Nifty of National Stock Exchange too moved up by 23 pts to 11,378.55.

The sectoral indices include, Energy, IT, Oil and Gas and Technology kept the market up in early trade.

The Sensex registered intraday high and low at 38,507.58 and 38,332.20 pts respectively.

The Nifty registered intraday high and low at 11,379 and 11,328.75 respectively.

The Mid Cap rose by 0.18 pc and Small Cap by 0.18 pc.

In 30 scrips, 21 advanced while 9 declined.

The gainers were TCS by 1.09 pc to Rs 2352.80, Infosys by 1.07 pc to Rs 934.50, Reliance Industries by 0.82 pc to Rs 2099.50, Sun Pharma by 0.58 pc to Rs 516.20 and Bajaj Finance by 0.42 pc to Rs 6288.95.

The losers were Powergrid by 1.11 pc to Rs 174.35, NTPC by 1.03 pc to Rs 91.55, Kotak Bank by 0.98 pc to Rs 1356.70 and Nestle India by 0.96 pc to Rs 16,245.70.
