Indian Market: Sensex regains 376.42 points

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex on Tuesday jumped 376.42 points at 33,605.22 following gains in HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Kotak Bank and Infosys amid positive global cues.

The Nifty of National Stock Exchange too rose 100.30 points to 9,914.

The Nifty registered day's high and low at 10,046.15 and 9,728.50 points respectively.

Falling by more than 500 points, the Sensex opened on a strong note at 33,853.72, up by 625 points. During the day, it spurted by 794 points to 34,022.01, day's high before closing at 33,605.22, advancing by 376.42 points from its previous close.

The BSE Sensex touched high and low of 34,022.01 and 32,953.30, respectively and there were 15 stocks advancing against 15 stocks declining on the index.

In sectoral indices, Metal, Finance, Bankex, Materials and IT lifted the market while in scrips, HDFC Bank, HDFC, ICICI Bank, Kotak Bank and Infosys too boosted the same.

However, selling in Telecom, Realty, Power and Capital Goods restricted from further gains, broker informed

Mid cap rose by 0.37 percent and Small Cap by 0.04 percent.
