Indian Market: Sensex rallied over 300 pts

Mumbai/UNI:The BSE Sensex on Tuesday spurted by 392 pts at 40,150.05 in opening session, renewed buying was seen in Metals, Capital Goods, Bankex and Finance stocks.

The Nifty of National Stock Exchange too rose by 124.40 pts to 11,793.55.

The Sensex registered intra days high and low at 40,173.35 and 39,952.79 pts respectively.

The Nifty registered intra days high and low at 11,797.35 and 11,723.30 respectively.

The Mid Cap was up by 0.77 pc and Small Cap by 0.68 pc.

In 30 scrips, 26 advanced while 4 declined.

The gainers were ICICI Bank by 3.54 pc to Rs 431.85, SBI by 2.96 pc to Rs 201.80, IndusInd Bank by 2.49 pc to Rs 642.75, HDFC Bank 2.48 pc to Rs 1245.70 and HDFC by 2.32 pc to Rs 2090.

The losers were Infosys by 0.36 pc to Rs 1068=10, Adian Paints by 0.24 pc to Rs 2166.80, Ultracemco by 0.18 pc to Rs 4543.05 and Hind Unilever by 0.10 pc to Rs 2071.70.
