Indian fuel market: Petrol crosses Rs 76 mark in Mumbai

New Delhi, Jun 11 (UNI) Petrol prices crossed Rs 76 mark in Mumbai while diesel retailed beyond Rs 68 in Chennai.

In Mumbai, people have to shell out Rs 76.12 per litre for petrol while diesel retailed at Rs 67.51 per litre.

In Delhi, petrol retailed at Rs 70.43 per litre while diesel costs Rs 64.39 per litre.

According to Indian Oil Corporation, in Kolkata petrol was at Rs 72.68 per litre while diesel costs Rs 66.31 per litre.

In Chennai, petrol retailed at Rs 73.17 per litre while diesel costs Rs 68.11 per litre.

In Noida, petrol was available at a price of Rs 70.33 per litre and diesel costs Rs 63.80 per litre.

In Gurugram, petrol was priced at Rs 70.85 a litre and diesel costs Rs 63.89 per litre.

As per the country’s dynamic pricing mechanism, the domestic fuel prices depend upon International fuel prices on a 15-day average and the value of the rupee.

The price of the two fuels retailing at the petrol pumps is calculated after adding central excise duty, dealers commission and value-added tax (VAT) to the base price.

The prices are revised at 0600 hrs daily, while earlier it used to be revised every fortnight.
