Telangana: Six of family burnt alive after tiled house catches fire

Hyderabad/UNI: Six members of a family, including two children, were burnt alive after their tiled house caught fire at Gudipalli village of Mandamarri Mandal in Mancherial district of Telangana in the wee hours of Saturday.

The fire broke out in the house at 1 a.m when the victims are asleep.

The cause of the fire was still not known, police said.

On receiving the information, the firemen reached the spot and extinguished the fire. However, the inmates had charred to death by then.

The deceased were identified as Shivaiah (50), his wife Padma (45) Maunika (25) Padma's elder sister daughter, Children Himabindu (2) and Preeti (4) and Shantayya (50), a employee of Singareni Collieries Company Limited.

Maunika came to Shivaiah's house with her two daughters two days back.

The tiled house was completely gutted in the fire mishap.

Police have registered a case. The probe is underway.
