PM Modi speaks with Danish counterpart Mette Frederiksen, appreciates support for India's G20 presidency

New Delhi/IBNS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday spoke on the phone with his Danish counterpart Mette Frederiksen during which they reviewed progress in the bilateral Green Strategic Partnership.

He also appreciated her support for India’s G20 Presidency.

In a tweet, PM Modi said: “Pleased to speak with PM of Denmark, H.E. Ms. Mette Frederiksen. We reviewed progress in our Green Strategic Partnership and shared ideas on celebrating the 75th anniversary of our diplomatic relations in 2024. Appreciate her support for India’s ongoing G20 Presidency.”

The Danish PM in a tweet said the two leaders had excellent talks on regional and global issues and that Denmark is ready to support India’s G20 Presidency.

“Thank you @narendramodi for good discussions on taking our Green Strategic Partnership even further.

“Also excellent talks on regional and global issues, including India’s G20 Presidency. Denmark is ready to support you. #GreenStrategicPartnership.”

According to an official statement, PM Modi congratulated PM Frederiksen on her appointment as the Prime Minister of Denmark for a second term.

The two leaders reviewed the progress of the India-Denmark Green Strategic Partnership. They expressed satisfaction with the recent high-level exchanges and the growing cooperation.

PM Modi briefed PM Frederiksen on India's ongoing Presidency of the G20 and its key priorities.

PM Frederiksen appreciated India’s initiatives and conveyed Denmark’s full support to them.

The two leaders agreed to celebrate the 75th anniversary of India-Denmark relations next year in 2024 in a befitting manner and to explore areas to diversify their relations further.
