Bengaluru: Two members of a family, which included a minor, died on Tuesday after an under-construction Metro pillar fell on them along the Nagawara line of the outer ring road.

The pillar fell on them when they were passing along the Nagawara line on a two-wheeler, resulting in injuries, Bengaluru East DCP Beemashankar S Guled told reporters here.

The injured were immediately rushed to the Altius Hospital where they succumbed to their injuries, he said.

The deceased have been identified as Tejawanini and her son Vihan.

The tragedy took place around 10.30 am.

While Tejaswini died due to internal bleeding, her son Vihan died of head injuries.

Meanwhile, the Congress party flayed the ruling BP government, accusing it of indulging in corruption in development works.
