Mizoram: 8 bodies recovered from stone quarry collapsed site, 4 still missing

Hnahthial,Mizoram: Eight bodies were recovered so far from the site at Maudarh village in Mizoram's Hnahthial district where 12 workers are feared to be trapped after a stone quarry collapsed on Monday evening at around 2-40 pm.

Out of 12 workers, four people are employees of ABCI Infrastructure Pvt Ltd.

Eight workers are contractor employees.

According to the district administration, NDRF team comprising two officers and 13 staff have reached the spot on Tuesday morning and search operation is still on.

The Deputy Commissioner of Hnahthial district said that, the dead bodies have been sent to the district hospital for post-mortem examination and identification of the bodies will be done after post-mortem.

The Deputy Commissioner of Hnahthial district further said that, teams of BSF, Assam Rifles, NDRF, state police, district administration are engaged in search operation at the area.
