Bhutan King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuk on Tuesday took a holy dip in Tribeni Sangam during the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela or the Great Pitcher Festival in Prayagraj, the largest conglomeration of Hindu pilgrims in the world.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath accompanied him during the visit.

"Today at Maha Kumbh-2025, Prayagraj, His Majesty King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck of Bhutan took holy dip at the sacred Triveni Sangam and attained virtue," Adityanath shared the images of himself taking a dip in the water with the king and wrote on X.

The King also fed birds while riding on a boat on the Sangam.

Several celebrities, including Coldplay's lead singer Chris Martin, visited Maha Kumbh during the ongoing festival which began on January 13.

It will continue till February 26.

A few days back, a delegation, including foreign delegates, visited the holy event and expressed satisfaction over the arrangements.

The delegation included 73 foreign delegates.

Keiichi ONO, Ambassador of Japan to India, was quoted as saying in a statement, “I am delighted that the state government and the Ministry of External Affairs organized this trip for diplomats. The Mahakumbh Mela is a unique event, particularly this year, and I’m eager to experience it and understand Hindu culture.”

Mariano Caucino, Ambassador of Argentina to India, said, "I am delighted to be part of this significant ceremony. It brings me great joy to follow the traditions here."
