Srinagar/UNI: Police on Monday claimed to have arrested a most wanted drug smuggler along with Charas in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

The wanted drug smuggler was identified as Majeed Sofi, a resident of Fatehgarh Sheeri and 140 grams of contraband Charas like substance was recovered from him, police said.

The smuggler was arrested during checking at Fatehgarh Sheeri when he was coming towards Sheeri Market and upon seeing the police party tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended tactfully.

A case under Narcotic Drugs and Phototrophic Substance (NDPS) Act registered against the smuggler in Police Station Sheeri and investigations set in motion, police added.
