EAM Jaishankar calls on Australian PM Anthony Albanese in Sydney

New Delhi/UNI: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, who is visiting Sydney, on Saturday called on Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and discussed the bilateral strategic partnership, ahead of the latter’s visit to India next month.

In tweets, the EAM said he conveyed the personal greetings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the Australian PM.

Jaishankar tweeted, “Delighted to call on PM @AlboMP of Australia today morning in Kirribilli House in Sydney. Conveyed the personal greetings of PM @narendramodi.

“Our discussions reflected the full spirit of our strategic partnership. Apprised @AlboMP of recent developments in that regard."

“P.S.: Of course, discussed cricket :)”, Jaishankar added.

The Australian PM in a tweet on the meeting said, “It was wonderful to meet with @DrSJaishankar this morning ahead of my trip to India next month.

“We discussed our strategic partnership, economic opportunities and the people-to-people ties that enrich our nations.”

The EAM flew to Sydney from Fiji where he attended the 12th World Hindi Conference.
