Mumbai/IBNS: Indian-Canadian actress Lisa Ray has slammed Air India for denying her a refund on a medical ground for a ticket which she had cancelled, media reports said.

Lisa claimed she had to cancel the ticket owing to her 92-year-old father's ailment.

She wrote on X, "Here we go again @airindia. My father is 92, unwell and I have to cancel travel due to his ailing condition. Submitted doctors letter and the waiver was denied? How is that possible? Where is the empathy from an airline that is claiming to care about passengers???"

In response, the Tata-owned airline commented, "Dear Ms. Ray, we empathize with your concern and wish your father a speedy recovery. Please help us with the email address from which you've written to us or the case ID (if any) via DM. We'll look into it."

As per a report by NDTV, the airline, which was formerly state-owned, had offered to reschedule Lisa's flight but the actress refused it.

The complaints against Air India have been pouring in frequently of late.

Among many who complained was Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan who was allocated a broken seat during a Bhopal-Delhi journey.

Chouhan, a former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, took to X to express his dissatisfaction over Air India's maintenance.

The Union Agriculture Minister narrated that when he reached out to the airline staff complaining about the seat, he was told that it was not the only chair in the flight which was defective.

The airline had apologised to the minister.
