‘You’re the PM!’ Trump taunts Keir Starmer for not supporting US in Iran war, targets NATO
US President Donald Trump launched a sharp attack on key Western allies, openly mocking their leadership and questioning their reliability during wartime.
Speaking at a White House event, Trump suggested that traditional partners failed to support the US when it mattered most.
The remarks risk deepening tensions between Washington and its closest allies.
Trump’s blunt criticism of NATO and European leaders could have lasting implications for global cooperation during conflicts.
‘You’re the PM!’ — Starmer targeted
Trump took direct aim at UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, mocking him over an alleged hesitation to deploy aircraft carriers.
Recalling the exchange, Trump ridiculed Starmer for saying he needed to consult his team before making a decision. “You’re the prime minister, you don’t have to,” Trump said.
He went further, taking a swipe at Britain’s military capabilities.
Trump described the UK’s aircraft carriers as “old” and “broken-down,” intensifying his criticism of one of America’s closest allies.
Macron in the crosshairs
French President Emmanuel Macron was also targeted.
Trump claimed France declined to offer immediate support, mimicking Macron’s response and suggesting help would only come after the conflict ended.
Trump also made a controversial personal comment referencing Brigitte Macron, citing a past viral video claim that had already been dismissed by the French president as disinformation.
NATO called a ‘Paper Tiger’
In one of his strongest remarks, Trump questioned NATO’s credibility.
He warned that the alliance might not stand firm in a major global conflict, branding it a “paper tiger” without further details.
Video deleted without explanation
The White House initially shared footage of the speech on social media but later removed it.
No official reason was given for the deletion.
Diplomatic fallout looms
The remarks are likely to trigger strong reactions from the UK, France, and other NATO members.
They also add to growing uncertainty around the future of the transatlantic alliance amid ongoing global tensions.
