Two Pakistani traffic sergeants were shot dead in Lakki Marwat district of Pakistan on Thursday in an episode which authorities believe to be a terror attack.

Police told The Express Tribune that in Lakki Marwat’s Darra Pizu Bazaar two traffic sergeants were killed when unidentified bike riders opened fire on them in broad daylight.

“Both the policemen were left critically injured in the attack. Local residents rushed them to the hospital but Constable Hafizullah died before reaching the hospital and Head Constable, Zaram Khan, breathed his last in the District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ).

The bike riders escaped the spot after committing the crime.

“Both the traffic police sergeants had been deployed in the marketplace to manage traffic when they were attacked,” said a police official

Police are currently conducting door-to-door search operation in the region.
