Three women abducted in Pakistan

Taxila: At least three women were abducted in different incidents in Wah region of Pakistan recently, media reports said on Friday.

Asfand reported to police that his teenage sister along with her cousin was going to some relatives’ house when unknown persons abducted her, reports Dawn News.

Iftikhar Ahmed reported to police that his wife was going to her parents’ house when she was abducted while Farzana Bibi reported to police that her teenage daughter was going to visit some friends when she was abducted by an unknown person, the Pakistani newspaper reported.

A report compiled by  the Sustainable Social Development Organisation (SSDO) and the Centre for Research, Development and Communication (CRDC) has showed   157 women were kidnapped, 112 were subjected to physical assault and 91 were raped across Pakistan in June, media reports said on Friday.

Highlighting a growing trend of violence against Pakistani women by citing data from mainstream media, the report also underscored a significant increase in cases of domestic violence against women. At least 100 cases of domestic violence were reported last month, it said as quoted by Dawn News.
