Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has slammed the Taliban administration in Afghanistan for not following the  crucial commitments made in the Doha agreements which included preventing the use of Afghanistan territory for terrorism activities.

The Defense Minister lashed out at the Taliban authorities, saying that the country was neither upholding its obligation as a neighbour nor safeguarding the peace agreement, he tweeted on Saturday, reports Khaama Press.

On Friday, the Army expressed its concerns, saying Afghanistan has long been perceived as a safe haven for the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) organization.

“The involvement of Afghan nationals in acts of terrorism in Pakistan is another important concern that needs to be addressed,” the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement as quoted by Khaama Press.

“Such attacks are intolerable and would elicit an effective response from the security forces of Pakistan.”
