Taliban mortar attack kills or wounds 21 civilians in Afghanistan

Kabul, May 9 (IBNS); At least 21 civilians have been either killed or wounded in a mortar attack conducted by Taliban militants in Afghanistan's Nangarhar province, local Khaama Press reported.

The incident took place on Tuesday early morning in the province's Bati Kot district.

According to a government statement, two civilians were killed in Hafiz Godai area.

At least 19 civilians have been moved to the hospital in Jalalabad city.

The Taliban is yet to issue a comment on the report.
