Taliban fails to secure UN seat

| @indiablooms | Dec 03, 2021, at 05:17 am

Kabul: The Taliban received a jolt from the United Nations (UN) Accreditation Committee as the current Taliban rulers of Afghanistan were not approved a seat at the world body.

The seat for the Taliban was delayed for the time being.

The UN committee was convened on Wednesday and delayed the decision over who will represent Afghanistan’s Taliban-led government and the military junta in Myanmar, reports Khaama Press.

The Taliban will not be allowed to have seats at the 193-member world body for now.

The Taliban forced themselves to power in Afghanistan on Aug 15 after foreign forces started leaving the country.
