Senior al-Qaeda leader killed in airstrike: USDoD
Washington, Nov 23 (IBNS): A senior al-Qaeda leader was killed in an airstrike conducted by the US in Syria, the US Department of Defense reported.
The deceased has been identified as Abu Ayyub al-Masri.
"He had ties to terrorist groups operating throughout Southwest Asia, including groups responsible for attacking U.S. and coalition forces in Afghanistan and those plotting to attack the West," Pentagon Press Secretary Peter Cook said.
