Moscow, May 5 (Sputnik): The Russian side of the Russian-Turkish commission monitoring the implementation of the Syrian ceasefire registered two truce breaches in Syria over the past 24 hours, while the Turkish side recorded four ceasefire violations, the Russian Defence Ministry's Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria said on Sunday.

"Over the last 24 hours, the Russian party of the Russia-Turkey Commission on violations of the Joint Agreement has registered 2 cases of firing in the provinces of Hama. The Turkish side has registered 4 cases of ceasefire violations in the provinces of Aleppo (2) and Hama (2)," the center said in its daily bulletin.

The number of areas that have signed reconciliation agreements in Syria stands at 2,518. The number of armed formations that have pledged to observe the ceasefire also remains unchanged, standing at 234.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry's Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides and Refugee Migration Monitoring, over 1,600 Syrian refugees have returned to their home country from neighboring Jordan and Lebanon over the past 24 hours.

In addition, 18 internally displaced Syrians have returned to their places of residence in the Arab republic.

Syrian engineering units have, meanwhile, cleared of mines 1.7 hectares (4.2 acres) of land and destroyed 32 explosive devices over the past 24 hours, the bulletin added.

As the Syrian government has regained control over most of the country's territories that were seized by terrorists, it is now focused on creating favorable conditions for repatriating refugees.

Moscow is assisting Damascus in this process, along with providing humanitarian aid to civilians and being a guarantor of the ceasefire.
