Residential building collapses in Pakistan, 6 killed

Karachi, July 18 (IBNS): A three-storey residential building collapsed in Karachi's Liaquatabad area on Tuesday, killing at least six people, media reports said.

The building collapsed at around 2 am.

At least nine people were injured in the mishap.

The survivors were pulled out from the rubble by rescue workers.

They have been shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), reports said.

Talking to DawnNews, Deputy Commissioner Central Capt (retired) Fariduddin Mustafa said all machinery required for the rescue operation is present at the collapse site. He said it could take up to 24 hours to remove the debris after an incident of this nature.
