Beijing, Jun 16 (Xinhua) China's meteorological authority continued a blue alert for rainstorms Sunday morning.

From Sunday to Monday, rainstorms or heavy rains are expected to sweep parts of Hubei, Hunan, Guizhou, Yunnan provinces and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, said the National Meteorological Center.

Some central and southern regions will experience torrential rains, with precipitation up to 160 mm in parts of Hubei, Guizhou and Guangxi.

The centre advised local governments to stay alert to possible flooding, landslides and mudslides caused by heavy rains and recommended outdoor operations be halted in hazardous areas.

China has a four-tier, colour-coded weather warning system, with red representing the most severe, followed by orange, yellow and blue.
