Quetta, Oct 9 (IBNS): At least five people were killed as gunmen targeted a vehicle in Pakistan's Quetta area on Monday, media reports said.

The attack on the vehicle by unknown men left one person injured.

The vehicle was reportedly carrying members of the Hazara community.

As per Geo News report: "According to police officials, the deceased include the vehicle's driver and a passerby as well — both not Hazara."

The vehicle was going to Sabzi Mandi from Mariabad when the attack occurred.

The gunmen escaped unhurt after carrying out the attack, which appears to be an act of targeted killing, police officials told Geo News.

The injured person was shifted to hospital for treatment.

The police have reached the spot of the attack.

An investigation is currently going on.
