Warsaw, May 17 (Sputnik/UNI): A Polish man has been arrested in Warsaw on suspicion of plotting a terror attack on a public venue, a spokesman for Poland’s Internal Security Agency said on Friday.

"Mikolaj B. said he wanted to carry out a terror act in a public place as revenge on opponents of Islam," Stanislaw Zaryn was quoted as saying by the national news agency, PAP.

The security services spokesman said the suspect was a Polish national, a member of the local Muslim community who went by the name of Mohammed.

The man reportedly underwent mental health treatment at some point in his past. He faces up to five years in jail if convicted of terror charges. A Polish court has remanded them in custody.
