Peshawar blast investigation: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police take a stand with threat of mass resignation

Peshawar: A memo circulated by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police's special branch has revealed that over 100,000 junior ranks are considering resigning en masse if the recent attack on the mosque wasn’t not properly investigated, media reports said.

The memo, which has been widely shared on social media, is based on WhatsApp messages sent by a group named “All KPK Police Junior Ranks", reports Pakistan Today.

The memo calls for an impartial joint investigation team to find and punish the perpetrators of the attack, which claimed the lives of over 100 people, mostly police officers.

The junior ranks have united in their demand for justice and have warned that if their demands are not met, they will “have to collect our dead every day.”

A suicide blast inside a Peshawar mosque this week left at least 100 people, including policemen, killed.
