Pakistan: Former Afghan Police Commander assassinated in Quetta

Kabul: Unidentified gunmen killed Abdul Samad Achakzai, a former commander of the Afghan police, in Pakistan's Quetta region, media reports said on Tuesday.

According to local sources, the incident that resulted in the death of an Afghan national who was also a former police commander took place on Sunday, October 9, reports Khaama Press.

A former military man, who confirmed the death of former commander Achakzai, also told the news agency that he escaped to Pakistan to save his life after the republic regime collapsed to the Taliban.

Security officials in Pakistan did not comment on the issue so far.

Abdul Samad Achakzai was a former commander of the local police for Uruzgan province in the center of Afghanistan.
